Yes, I am jumping on the bandwagon, LOL!
I absolutely loved Gina’s Letter to her 27 Year Old Self, and Jill’s Letter to her 25 Year Old Self… so I thought, WOW! How much has changed since I was 20!
Dear Danielle,
Believe it or not, you actually want children, and will have them. No, seriously, you will have kids some day. It seems like something to be in shock about, but your kids are so awesome, don’t let it worry you. Camden is a 2 year old chatter box that has the personality of his class clown dad. Ben has your personality with your husband’s looks. Yes, you are married too. To someone you probably would have never expected.
Remember that guy from your freshman year of high school? The one who you ditched your prom date and hung out with? Yeah, Will. He is your husband. Shock of a lifetime huh? Who would have thought?
You are a stay at home mom, and a mom blogger, stay with me here… You don’t work anymore, it seems like something hard to believe because of how you hardly went a day without work, and never miss a day of work now as it is. But you have made the choice to stay at home with your boys and raise them.
You don’t go to hardcore shows anymore, although you maintain most of your friendships from this time of your life. Including the tattoo shop. Yes, you are that cool mom with tattoos. Although, you have taken all of your piercings out besides your ears.
Your “best friend” of a decade has jumped ship, which frankly is better for you and your kids in the long run. You will see why over the next two years.
You moved into the valley, something you swore you would never do. But you have made a great home here for your children. You will move back to Lordship one day, you certainly are determined.
You run a support group for mothers who have had c-sections. At this point you have had two, not by choice. Your biggest fear came true and you had major surgery. You had a horrible experience with your oldest which sparked you to join this group, and start a local one in your area. C-section, VBAC, Home Birth, are all words you use in your day to day language.
You are certifying to be a Lamaze Childbirth Teacher too, You were always interested in the natural childbirth community, and you are fully involved in Connecticut’s now.
Oh, and by the way, your sister Dawn had another baby. GASP! Shock! I know, all those feelings you are going through, but I am serious. Jake is 2 now, Dylan was 11 when he was born. But some things never change, and you still don’t talk to your brother, or whoever that stranger is.
You have a whole new set of friends, people grow up, go their own ways, and most of the people you hung out with have done nothing to grow up or move forward.
You are not the typical mom. You have your two tone funky hair, you have not brought into mom jeans either. So rest assured, you are still stylish.
In 7 months, Grandpa will die. You will go through a horrible depression, and come out on top. You will make an amazing connection with him, and come to peace with his death, eventually. But know he is watching you, and it so proud of you.
It sounds like a lot to take in, but I promise you, your life may not be what you thought it would be, but it is kick ass awesome.
Love,
Your 25 year old self
ha I should write 18 year old me a warning! haha
Wow! Loved it ![]()
Jill @Babyrabies´s last [type] ..Refreshing Party Favors
Great idea she had, glad you wrote one too. Apparently the Karma nut liked it too, I’m thinking she’s Tanya or Joy. Total nutcase in any case.
Geeze, if I had to write a letter to my 20 year old self, I don’t know where I’d start. It would be very interesting for sure.
The vast majority of my stalker hits come from West Hartford Connecticut. ![]()
I know exactly who it is.
Ahhh, Miss Laura. I thought it might be her. Well, as I said, nutcase.
Could also be the one who claimed she moved to West Hartford too… Who knows, but either way they are both beyond obvious.
