Well yesterday was the day I could take the time and wash my first set of cloth diapers. We have been cloth diapering for a little over a full week now (full time) and I was lucky enough that my first real wash was done by my mother when I was in New York City for BlogHer.
First I wanted to share this cute video I made of Ben the other day as he was toddling around in his Apple Cheeks Cloth Diaper. It is probably one of my favorite color covers I got too.
How cute is that? I can’t believe I didn’t do this earlier! So anyways, I washed my first batch yesterday, and it was beyond easy. I took the entire bag of diapers (with pre-flushed poop obviously) and dumped them right into the washer, folded the laundry bag custom made for the diapers inside out, and threw it in with the diapers, and washed.
Once the cycle was over, I took all the inserts, and the bag and tossed them into the dryer, and took the covers to dry on my kitchen table. I would have put them out on our clothes line, but it was raining on and off yesterday, and slightly nasty, so I didn’t want to take any chances.
Worked out quite nicely, and it was certainly far more easy than I thought it was going to be. Apple Cheeks have been easy to use, clean, and their customer service is out of this world. Any question I have had has been answered so quickly, and they are uber friendly.
Fast forward to the end of August… They are going to be hosting a twitter party. Check out @AppleCheeksDipe on twitter for more details. I will most likely be helping them out also, so be sure to tune in to me also @BirthBabiesBlog on twitter!
Can’t wait to see you at the Twitter Party! Thanks for adding the button!!!!!
