I was harassed for 6 days straight by these people. Visit my blog at www.jentotheden.com to see the history of it. I am currently working with my attorney to put a final stop to their harassment of me.

This story makes me sick and I am sharing it. Thank you for posting this.

I don't watch this show. I think it's gross. I wonder if ANY of these mothers think about what kinds of people are watching their children. There are SEX OFFENERS and PEDOPHILES that just live for this. I would be totally grossed out if I thought someone like that might be looking at my child.

Good for you girl (Danielle) - I am also not an avid reader of your blog, however, this post made me smile. I read every one of your comments and I am glad I'm not the only mother out there that has bad days! No matter where you go - someone will have a way to put you down. It's pathetic that women will come on here and try to sound like they are perfect mothers - when they are probably the ones beating their children at the end of the day! In a post like this - it's CLEAR that any REAL MOTHER would react or rather, have the same thoughts you did in your situation!

Comment on Motherhood Made Me MORE Pro-Choice by Jane

I have always been pro-choice since I was old enough to understand the issue, and was lucky enough in my life never to have experienced an unwanted pregnancy. Now, at the age of 35, I am pregnant for the first time and I whole-heartedly agree with the poster that no woman should be forced to be pregnant when she doesn't want to be. I am 33 weeks along and this has been the most difficult thing I have ever done physically. It has taken a huge toll on my body and honestly has sucked big time. I hate being pregnant! I'm doing it because I am ready and want to be a mom, but if I were not ready and did not want to be a mom, being pregnant would be like constantly being tortured for nine months. Nausea, back pain, lack of sleep, heartburn, rib cage pain, shortness of breath, urinary tract infections, having to pee every 15 minutes, not to mention crazy mood swings(I don't have to list the symptoms for all you moms out there -- you know).

Prior to being pregnant I was lucky to be one of the healthiest people I know. I never had any kind of sickness or symptoms and got used to living a healthy, happy life. Now it's just one thing to deal with after another and pains in places I didn't know existed. Ugh. And I haven't even had anywhere near as bad a pregnancy as some women, but it has been REALLY really difficult, mentally and physically.

Of course, abortion is not ideal -- sex education and unwanted pregnancy prevention should be the focus, but for goodness sake, any woman who finds herself pregnant when she doesn't want to be should be allowed to get out of it. Being pregnant is SO DIFFICULT no woman should have to do it unless she really wants to. Now that I have personal experience being pregnant I feel I have earned the right to say this, and I will always be pro-choice for myself and for my daughter.

Comment on My Beef with the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative by L

I just had a baby via c-section for failure to dilate to 10 cm within 24 hrs (I stopped at 5). I had pitocin given to me at around the 8 hr mark. According to my ob, after the fact, that may have stopped the dilation and lead to my c-section. Hard to know for sure, the ob definitely did not know.

Anyway, I was in labor/my water was broken for 24 hrs. So for me, I was actually awake for about 40 hrs straight. I got some light naps in during the labor process, but was mostly disrupted and unable to sleep. With the hospital's baby-friendly policy, we were a) kept awake longer after the delivery due to the nurse bathing and administering shots to my son in my room (gave birth at 11:20, returned to room around 12:30/1, nurse hung around until 3:30) and b) left to care for the baby on no sleep (which was impossible). Being a new mom, I was not aware I could request that the baby go to the nursery and and my understanding is that it is discouraged due to the baby-friendly policy (they have to chart it and explain why the baby was placed in the nursery). But! What mom can be a good mom on no sleep! Every time I held him, I fell asleep - which was also against the rules. Catch-22! This policy just seems illogical and perhaps because of the chaotic nature of the hospital, the care-taker nurses on duty sometimes do not stop to think that mom and dad may not be capable of taking care of their new baby right away due to exhaustion. Fortunately, a later shift nurse did come in and offer to take him to the nursery, but by then, it was nearly time for morning rounds, and I still got pretty much no sleep.

I definitely agree that baby-friendly is not mom-friendly. Not even sure if it really is baby-friendly.

This is very real and very scary. My wife had accreta and they had to move to hysterectomy during the birth at 38 weeks. Seemed fine for a few hours until the "cavity" walls that once held a baby and uterus and all the other mommy parts started bleeding. My wife was rushed back into the OR where she was looked over to find the source of bleeding. None found, so they "packed her" and left her open until the next day when they could run CT scans. Once that was negative, they closed her back up confident the bleeding stopped, which so far 5 days later it has. She (all of us) are extremely lucky she is still alive. I share this story to inform people to make sure they are delivering with skilled doctors who have experience with accreta. Also, and just as important, you need to be at a huge hospital with huge blood supplies. My wife went through 20 units of blood, thank the Lord we were at a major downtown hospital familiar with all kinds of trauma. Delivering with doctors not familiar with accreta or at a small regional hospital could kill you if you suspect you have accreta. God bless, -Scareddaddy
