My Celebrity Hotties

I typically don’t buy into the  OMG he is SOOOOOOO HAWT!!!! That is surrounded with the typical Hollywood actors, but every once and a while I find one that will make my TV viewing heart skip a beat.

I seem to be posting a lot of serious and informative posts lately, so I thought I would make today a Friday Fun post!  So lets start at the top of my list….

Jake Gyllenhaal – Say that 5 times fast right? He busted onto the scene in Donny Darko, which I must admit I am not a huge fan of. But he played my weakness for men in uniform in Jarhead. Considering my own husband is a Marine, that kind of speaks volumes.  But I must say that was probably my favorite character that he played also. Now the new pictures coming out with the new movie he is in with his kick ass abs. I don’t know. I may actually have to head to the movies for the first time since my oldest was about 4 months old.

Christian Bale – Now this crush goes back to a school girl crush when I was in elementary school and saw the movie Newsies. So, early 1990′s.  He has certainly aged, but he can still be one of my older hotties.

Eric Dane – Oh My McSteamy!  I must say that he has been an acquired taste for me. When I started watching Grey’s Anatomy, I can’t say I was a fan of him so that kind of tainted my view of his hotness, but over time I have come around. I guess that goes along with the “growing up” of his character also. Though he is starting to get on my nerves again since him and “Little Grey” parted ways.

Eric Bana – He isn’t one of the real Hollywood front men, but he certainly got my attention in The Other Boleyn Girl.

Jamie Foxx – Hot musician on my list. I think a lot of it goes to his voice.  He could sing me to sleep any day of the week!

Nathan Fillion – AKA Rick Castle!  Talk about a nice looking man!  I must say, he is one of the biggest reasons I watch Castle. Great show, but it is packed with good looking guys!

Carey Hart – On again, Off again husband of the singer Pink. But even before he was known to the American public as Pink’s hunk of the month, I knew him as a kick ass motor cross stud. I must say I grew up as a complete tom boy, so Motor cross, BMX, and the X games were something that came once a year and excited the crap out of me. I still try to tune in occasionally now, but with the kids, and just not knowing who is who anymore makes it hard to keep up.   But he is right there next to Jake. LOL

David Beckham – My sports hottie. One of the few British men that I can say I find attractive. Along with my second in line for the Brits Jaimie Oliver who became far more attractive with the Food revolution thing. Healthy eating, and kids is a huge thumbs up for me.

Chad Ocho Cinco – My Dancing with the Stars cutie, because I wouldn’t really classify him as hot but he certainly has a really nice smile, and that right there makes him worthy.

So who are your Hollywood Mom Crushes?

Hollywood’s Depiction of Natural Childbirth

And we wonder why women in America have this screwy view of women who choose to have natural childbirth?  This clip from the new Jennifer Lopez movie The Backup Plan shows a completely fictionalized, strange, and scary home birth. Now as someone who has seen a home birth, with a tub, drums, and all kinds of various actions and items that were included in this movie clip, I can certainly tell you, none of the birthing moms I have seen look like they are ready to pull an exorcist and have their head turn straight back before they start throwing up a pea soup type substance.

But why is this a problem?  Of course I know this movie is clearly a comedy, but unfortunately for our society today, many young women, first time mothers, and even women who have children already will believe this type of scenario is the actual way a home birth would take place, minus a bit of the dramatics though.

Contributing to the fear factor we are seeing among first time mothers. Because most will actually see this movie instead of something like The Business of Being Born. Something that shows the facts, and accurate depictions of what real childbirth is, natural, home birth or even births in the hospital.

Of course a real depiction clearly wouldn’t have fit into this movie, but it would just be nice to see Hollywood stop clowning on women who choose to give birth at home, or naturally. It is offensive!

Kourtney Kardashian Renews My Faith in Birth

I know it sounds stupid, and I know I already wrote a lengthy post once today, but while making my internet blog rounds today, I came across a video clip of the eldest Kardashian sister giving birth, which was apparently aired on E! for the season finale of one of my guilty pleasures Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Now mind you, I had no idea who these people were until the show aired, minus the name Bruce Jenner most people had heard of. But the rest I was in the dark.

I was SO impressed to see Kourtney so calm, and cool while giving birth to her son Mason who was born in December. It seems like Hollywood has had a huge rash of scheduled cesareans, inductions, and over all just horribly medicalized births and this was just a huge refresh to the Hollywood natural birth stigma.

Moving enough to make me post twice in one day… which doesn’t happen often.
